Materials examined. 2 males and 2 females from flight feathers of the great cormorant, Phalacrocorax carbo (Linnaeus, 1758) ( Pelecaniformes : Phalacrocoracidae ), Samsun, Türkiye, 19 January 2022, coll. M. Öztürk (as shown in Fig. 4 View Figure 4 ).

Remarks. The genus Michaelia includes five described species, and all of them are associated with cormorants ( Phalacrocoracidae ) in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe ( Dubinin, 1953; Gaud and Atyeo, 1982; Hernandes et al., 2016). In the present study, Michaelia heteropus on the great cormorant, Phalacrocorax carbo , is reported for the first time in Türkiye.
