Holotype: male from Beneficiamento, Juruti, Pará, Brazil (2.507611°S 56.177639°W), 8–12.VIII.2010, B.V.B. Rodrigues, N.F. Lo-Man-Hung, N.C. Bastos & N. Abrahim ( MPEG 21032). Paratypes: one female with the same data as holotype ( MPEG 21043); one female with same data, except for 07.V.2010, N.C. Bastos ( MPEG 21029); one female with same data, except for 12.VIII.2010, N.C. Bastos ( MPEG 21042).

Etymology. The epithet is a toponymic adjective and reffers to the place where specimens were found.

Diagnosis. Within the group, this species seems to be closely related to M. acutidens Simon by having median projections on both the prolateral and retrolateral sides of the embolus, but can be identified by the more developed apophyses ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 23 – 29 ). Females of both these species have large, oblique copulation openings about twice the width of the copulation ducts ( Figs 25–26, 28–29 View FIGURES 23 – 29 ), but it is difficult to tell them apart. So far, the two species have not been found living at the same locality.
