(5) Mantidactylus femoralis View in CoL . Quoted by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc (1991, 1993). According to present information the northernmost locality for M. femoralis is Montagne d’Ambre, where it occurs in syntopy with M. ambreensis (Raxworthy and Nussbaum, 1994) , while at Sambirano only M. ambreensis is known (Glaw and Vences, 1994). No specimen of either M. femoralis or M. ambreensis is held at Amsterdam or Paris. At Nosy Be the occurrence of M. femoralis is therefore doubtful, and in absence of voucher specimens we exclude it from its fauna.
