Remark. The specimens of the Southern African population of M. argyrolepis differ from those of the nominate subspecies by their darker, more colourful forewing and considerably paler, whitish hindwing, justifying the subspecific separation. In the male and female genitalia there are no significant differences found between ssp. marleyi and the nominate subspecies. New country record for Mozambique.
