Etymology. Named after the type-locality, which is located in the Brazilian habitat called " caatinga ". Proposed as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Differs from other species of Oligoxystre by being very dark ventrally, and by the white setae on the carapace and legs, which are more evident in males. Males may be distinguished by the slender and elongated embolus without keels ( Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 21 – 24 ). Females may be distinguished by the long receptacula with numerous termini on the apex ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21 – 24 ).

Description. Male (Holotype). Total length: 25.1. Carapace: length 9.41; width 7.71. Eye tubercle: length 1.27; width 1.5. Labium: length 0.76; width 1.44. Sternum: length 4.62; width 4.2. Basal segment of chelicera with 9–10 teeth. Labium with 3 cuspules. Maxilla with 30–35 cuspules. Sternum oval. Thoracic fovea straight. Palp: femur 5.19/ patella 3.51/ tibia 4.58/ cymbium 1.91/ total 15.19. Legs I: femur 8.03/ patella 5.19/ tibia 6.41/ metatarsus 5.35/ tarsus 3.32/ total 28.3. II: 7.31/ 4.5/ 5.61/ 5.22/ 3.26/ 25.9. III: 6.39/ 3.32/ 4.56/ 5.8/ 3.59/ 23.66. IV: 8.27/ 4.05/ 6.89/ 7.95/ 3.73/ 30.89. Retrolateral lobe of cymbium slightly larger than prolateral lobe. Palpal bulb long and thin, without keels, and slightly curved ( Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 21 – 24 ). Retrolateral branch of tibial spur with spine inserted at its midlength, internal branch with spine of same size inserted on its base ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 24 ). Metatarsus I bends retrolaterally to tibial spur. Ventral surface dark; dorsally with many white setae ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 38 – 39 ).

Female (Paratype IBSP 8549). Total length: 34.2. Carapace: length 12.29; width 10.34. Eye tubercle: length 1.35; width 1.8. Labium: length 1.06; width 2.1. Sternum: length 5.75; width 4.88. Basal segment of chelicera with 12–13 teeth. Labium with 8 cuspules. Maxilla with 15–20 cuspules. Thoracic fovea recurved. Palp: femur 6.2/ patella 4.17/ tibia 3.39/ tarsus 3.8/ total 17.56. Spermathecae paired, receptaculum much longer than wide, with 2–8 termini on apex ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 21 – 24 ). Coloration as in male, but without white setae dorsally.
