Parelaphidion incertum (Newman, 1840) View in CoL ; Elaphidiini [new state record]

Distribution: WV to MO and southwest to TX. All Kentucky specimens were from just south of Cincinnati ( Interior Plateau ; Map 135).

Kentucky counties: Campbell (11), nr (1)

Years: 2017 (1), 2018 (10), nr (1)

Months: June (2), July (7), August (2), nr (1)

Collections (8 records, 12 specimens): CNHM (1), XEUC (11)

Collection methods: panel trap baited with Ray lab blend (11)

Larval host plants: Carya glabra , Celtis , Morus rubra , Prosopis juliflora , Quercus prinus and Salix ( Monné & Nearns 2022c)

Comments: Attracted to lights. Specific lures are unknown, however, Schmeelk et al. (2016) reported that this species was collected more often in traps (baited with a mixture of lures) set 12 m off the ground over traps at 1. 5 m off the ground. Apparently, one or more of the components of the Ray lab blend is an attractant.
