Description. Female. Body length 6.7–11.8 mm; fore wing length 4.7–7.2 mm.

Head width (dorsal view) 1.5–1.6 × its median length, 1.20–1.25 × maximum width of mesoscutum. Head behind eyes (dorsal view) roundly narrowed. Eye 1.8–2.1 × longer than temple (dorsal view). Ocelli medium-sized, arranged in triangle with base about 1.2 × its sides, with anterior ocellus round and weakly smaller than lateral suboval ocelli. POL almost equal to Od, 0.4–0.5 × OOL. Frons weakly concave, with fine but distinct median longitudinal carina in anterior 0.5–0.7. Eye glabrous, about 1.2 × higher than broad. Face width 0.70–0.75 × height of eye and 0.9–1.0 × height of face and clypeus combined. Malar space 0.30–0.35 × height of eye, 0.6–0.8 × basal width of mandible. Hypoclypeal depression width 1.1–1.3 × the shortest distance between depression and eye and 0.5–0.6 × width of face.

Antenna slender, almost filiform, with 49 antennomeres, 1.4 × longer than body. Scape 1.35–1.40 × longer than its maximum width. First flagellomere 6.0–6.5 × longer than its apical width, about 1.1 × longer than second flagellomere. Penultimate flagellomere 4.5 × longer than its maximum width, 0.9 × as long as apical segment.

Mesosoma 2.1–2.3 × longer than its maximum height. Pronotum distinctly convex dorsally (lateral view) and with fine submedian pronotal carina (dorsal view). Median length of mesoscutum 1.15 × its maximum width. Median lobe of mesoscutum (dorsal view) distinctly protruding forwards and anteriorly weakly convex, without median longitudinal furrow. Notauli complete, deep anteriorly and very shallow posteriorly disappearing on large rugose medio-posterior subrectangular area, crenulated. Prescutellar depression (scutellar sulcus) shallow, densely crenulated, with distinct four-five carinae, 0.30-0.35 × as long as scutellum medially. Precoxal sulcus (sternaulus) shallow but distinct, rather long, mainly smooth but sometimes partly with short crenulation, running along anterior 0.6 of lower part of mesopleuron.

Wings. Fore wing 4.2–4.5 × longer than maximum width. Vein r (first radial abscissa) arising weakly before middle of pterostigma. Vein 3RSa (second radial abscissa) 1.9–2.1 × longer than vein r (first radial abscissa), 0.30– 0.35 × as long as the straight vein 3RSb (third radial abscissa), 1.3–1.5 × longer than vein 2RS (first radiomedial). Second submarginal (radiomedial) cell 2.3–2.9 × longer than maximum width, 0.7–0.8 × as long as first subdiscal (brachial) cell. Vein (RS+M)a (first medial abscissa) distinctly sinuate. Vein 1m-cu (recurrent) weakly antefurcal, subparallel to vein 1M (basal). Vein 1cu-a (nervulus) postfurcal, 0.5–0.7 × as long as distance between veins 1M (basal) and nervulus (1cu-a). First subdiscal (brachial) cell 6.0–6.9 × longer than maximum width. Hind wing vein M+CU (first submedial abscissa) 0.30–0.35 × as long as vein 1-M (second submedial abscissa). Vein m-cu (recurrent) almost straight and distinctly antefurcal.

Legs. Hind femur 4.1–4.7 × longer than maximum width. Hind tarsus 1.15–1.20 × longer than hind tibia. Basitarsus of hind tarsus 0.80–0.85 × as long as second-fifth segments of hind tarsus combined. Second segment of hind tarsus 0.45–0.50 × as long as basitarsus, 2.0 × longer than fifth segment (without pretarsus).

Metasoma 1.2–1.4 × longer than mesosoma and head combined. First tergite without basolateral lobes and spiracular tubercles, distinctly and almost linearly widened from subbase to apex. Length of first tergite 1.2–1.4 × its maximum (subapical) width; maximum width 1.6–1.7 × its minimum (basal) width. First and second tergites not fused, mobile. Second tergite with wide, shallow or very shallow and almost parallel sublateral furrows; median length of second tergite 0.8–0.9 × its basal width, 1.35–1.50 × median length of third tergite. Suture between second and third tergites entirely deep and wide, distinctly sinuate, with strong sublateral bends. Third tergite with distinct wide transverse crenulated sulcus in basal 0.2 (medially)–0.5 (laterally). Ovipositor sheath 1.35–1.60 × longer than metasoma, 2.5–3.0 × longer than mesosoma, 1.1–1.5 × longer than fore wing.

Sculpture and pubescence. Vertex finely but distinctly and rather sparsely punctate; frons entirely coarsely transverse striate; face coarse rugose-striate. Mesoscutum with sparse and rather fine punctation, partly smooth, coarsely rugose-reticulate in large medioposterior subrectangular area. Mesopleuron mainly smooth, upper with sparse fine punctation. Metapleuron smooth to finely coriaceous or mainly coriaceous, rugulose-reticulate posteriorly and below. Propodeal areas not delineated by carinae, propodeum with distinct median longitudinal carina in basal half, entirely coarsely and densely rugose-reticulate to reticulate-areolate. Hind coxa and femur mainly smooth. First and second metasomal tergites distinctly and densely rugulose-reticulate, without striation, second tergite finely sculptured laterally. Third tergite very densely and distinct reticulate-areolate in basal 0.2 (medially)–0.6 (laterally), smooth apically. Fourth to sixth tergites very dense, small and rather fine reticulatepunctate in basal 0.3–0.5, smooth on remaining parts. Vertex covered by dense white and rather long setae directed forwards, almost glabrous anteriorly and laterally. Mesoscutum mostly covered by dense short pale setae, glabrous on anterior part of median lobe. Dorsal side of hind tibia with rather long, sparse and semi-erect pale setae, their length 0.6–0.8 × maximum width of tibia.

Colour. Head mainly black, yellow on narrow dorsal line along eyes, whitish yellow in lower half of temple and sometimes on malar space. Palpi entirely pale yellow. Antenna mainly black, two basal antennomeres dark reddish brown to sometimes reddish brown. Mesosoma black. Tegula reddish brown or dark reddish brown. Legs mainly brown to black, fore and mid femora and tibiae pale in part; fore coxae and fore and mid trochanters pale yellow to whitish yellow; hind tibiae basally whitish at short distance; apical part of first and entirely second-fourth segments of all tarsi brownish yellow, but in hind tarsi almost white. Metasoma entirely light reddish brown to orange brown, faintly darkerned in basal half. Ovipositor sheath brown in basal 0.4, brownish yellow in submedian 0.4 and black in apical 0.2. Wings faintly and evenly infuscate. Pterostigma entirely dark brown or black.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. French Guiana.

Etymology. Named after coloration of metasoma.

Comparative diagnosis. This new species belongs to the morphological group with mainly and densely setose mesoscutum. Pedinotus brunniventris sp. nov. is similar to P. niger Marsh and P. pardalotus Marsh , but it differs from the latter two species by having the sternauli smooth or almost smooth, ovipositor sheath with long yellowish area on middle part, and the first and second metasomal tergites distinctly longer.
