Praestochrysis lachesis : Kimsey and Bohart 1991: 532 (Taiwan, cat.).

Distribution.

China (Taiwan).

Remarks.

Tsuneki (1955) assumed that Chrysis lachesis was a synonym of Chrysis basilacuna . According to his description, the only distinguishing characteristic between the two species is the length of the antennal segments, which we think that could be a sexual dimorphic characteristic. Tsuneki was not able to study the type of Chrysis lachesis and postponed discussion of the possible synonymy. Later, Tsuneki (1970b) considered Chrysis basilacuna a synonym of Chrysis lachesis without further discussion, but he surely examined all of the material available in the area. Kimsey and Bohart (1991) did not examine the type of Chrysis basilacuna and placed it in the genus Chrysis . However, the anal margin of the third tergite with five teeth excludes this species from the genus Chrysis s. str., and we agree with Tsuneki’s interpretation.
