Current name: Saccharum spontaneum L. View in CoL ( Poaceae ).

Note: Although the same type choice was made by both Cope and Clayton & Renvoize (in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Gramineae 3: 704) in 1982, that of Cope was published earlier.
