TYPE LOCALITY: “ Bahia ( Brasiliae ) [Bahia ( Brazil)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study.
CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Sarcophaginae View in CoL ( Lopes 1969: 54, Pape 1996: 445).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868b: 26) described Sarcophaga oralis from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material received from P. Strobel. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species in our study.
