Analyzed material. Holotype male, Brazil, Paraíba, Areia 24–27.xi.2011. Bellini, B.C. col. Paratypes: one male and one female, same data as holotype. Type material deposited at Collembola Collection of Museu Nacional/ UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro, number 2416 CM/ MNRJ.

Remarks. S. glabra presents some polymorphic setae on head (S2, Pa4 and an extra macroseta above the ocular trichobothria) not represented in the original description. All these setae can be macro or microsetae in different specimens. The cephalic seta Pm1 and the mesothoracic seta p4 originally described as macroseta, were observed as microsetae in part of the specimens. The representation of Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 C corrects Pp3 and Pp4 on dorsal head, presented originally as macrosetae but only observed as microsetae among different analyzed specimens.

Seira glabra is similar in its dorsal chaetotaxy to other neotropical species of Seira with 0+0 and 1+1 macrosetae in Abd. I. Within these taxa, the most related neotropical species to S. glabra is possibly S. praiana Bellini, Fernandes & Zeppelini, 2010 and they both share a very similar macrochaetotaxy in: dorsal head (with exception of Pa2 which is a macroseta in S. praiana and a microseta in S. glabra ); reduction of macrosetae in Th III (3+ 3 in S. praiana and 2+ 2 in S. glabra , while most species presents at least 7+7); absence of macrosetae in Abd. I; and proximal regions of Abd. II, III and IV, which present a very similar distribution and number of dorsal macrosetae. At the same time, the compared species are different in: Th III, where p2e is a macroseta only in S. praiana ; external region of Abd. III, where a7, p7 and p 7i are developed into macrosetae only in S. glabra ; and external region of Abd. IV, where E1 and E2p are macrosetae only in S. praiana .
