Diagnosis. Externally, the species ( Figs. 3–4 View FIGURES 1–8 ) strongly differs from other species of Stigmatophora ( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 1–8 ) and is similar to Planovalvata confusa ( Figs. 1–2 View FIGURES 1–8 ) and Stigmatophora (Pseudomiltochrista) zolotuhini ( Figs. 5–6 View FIGURES 1–8 ), but differs from P. confusa by its slightly smaller size, more rounded forewings, and darker, pale red hindwings coloration, whereas in P. confusa forewings are more angular and hindwings are pale ochreous yellow with slight pinkish suffusion; from S. (P.) zolotuhini differs by its significantly larger size, slightly narrower forewings with less arcuate costal and anal margins, narrower yellow strokes between veins of forewings, red marginal area of forewings without submarginal transversal band, and pale red hindwings, whereas in S. (P.) zolotuhini forewings are broader and with more arcuate costal and anal margins, the marginal area is yellow with irregularly dentate submarginal transversal band, and hindwings are much paler, pinkish yellow with pale reddish suffusion of veins. The male and female genitalia of S. roseivena ( Figs. 9–11 View FIGURES 9–11 ) strongly differ from those of both externally similar species ( Figs. 7–8 View FIGURES 1–8 , 10 View FIGURES 9–11 , 12 View FIGURES 12–13 ) and are similar to other members of the subgenus Stigmatophora : in males ( Figs. 11– 12 View FIGURES 9–11 View FIGURES 12–13 ), the valve has weakly sclerotized costa without processes, the thorn-like harpe is presented, the sacculus has a large distal process; the vesica consists of a subbasal diverticulum and a large sack-like distal section and armed with fields of spine-like scobination and clusters of numerous small but robust cornuti. In females, ( Figs. 14–15 View FIGURES 14–16 ), the ductus bursae is long, well sclerotized, dorso-ventrally flattened; the corpus bursae is small, elliptical, with a strong spine-like scobination; the appendix bursae is very long and narrow, directed posteriorly.

Distribution. The species is widespread in Indochina ( Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam) ( Hampson 1894; de Joannis 1928; Černý & Pinratana 2009) and China (Jiangxi, Fujian, Hainan). Records for Hunan, Guangxi and Yunnan ( Fang 2000) needs confirmation because of probable confusion of S. roseivena and Planovalvata confusa sp. nov.
