Taeniamia biguttata (Lachner 1951) View in CoL —Twinspot cardinalfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen in a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–16 m depth, St. KR 98, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell), and another taken on the north coast of Kavieng District , at 6–24 m depth, St. KR 164.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Samoa, north to the Philippines and Taiwan, south to Papua New Guinea. Aggregating in caves and crevices of sheltered coral reefs, 3– 18 m depth. Marine.
