Material examined. Holotype. BRAZIL: Rio de Janeiro, Pinheiral , Fazenda Santa Helena, 22°34’S; 44°21’W, 05– 11.XI.1999, A. D. Brescovit et al. leg., 1M ( IBSP 166163) Paratype. BRAZIL: same data as the holotype, 1M ( IBSP 166164).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. The male of Thymoites pinheiral new species resembles that of T. bocaina new species in the form of the carapace, high and unmodified in ocular area ( Figs. 42, 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ) and presence of two setae between AME ( Figs. 42, 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ), but differs in conductor and embolus long, exceeding the margin of cymbium ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ).

Description. Male holotype (from Fazenda Santa Helena, IBSP 166163): Total length 1.57. Carapace length 0.75, width 0.58. Clypeus height 0.37. Sternum length 0.37, width 0.39. Abdomen length 0.84, width 0.67, height 0.67. Leg formula I/IV/II/III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.84/0.67/0.52/0.73; patellae + tibiae 0.84/0.67/ 0.48/0.69; metatarsi + tarsi 0.98/0.75/0.56/0.71; total 2.66/2.09/1.56/2.13. Carapace ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ) yellow brown. Two setae between the anterior median eyes ( Figs. 42, 43 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ). Eyes with dark borders. AME smaller than the other eyes. Sternum, endites, chelicerae, and labium yellow brown. Legs brown, except coxae yellow. Abdomen ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ) longer than wide, pale yellow. Spinnerets pale yellow. Palp with embolus developed and conductor extended on the base ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 41 – 43 ).

Distribution. Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
