Description.
Size. Length up to
1.929 mm
(n=8) excluding antennae.
Colour. Variable, some specimens totally pigmented sky-blue, with darker blue bands posteriorly and laterally on body segments, Abd IV with white spots anteriorly on segment and two medio-lateral longitudinal stripes as in figure 1J–K. Some specimens, probably from mounting medium, slightly yellowish, with patches of faded blue pigment remaining in position of darkest areas of other specimens, but others totally lacking pigment (
Figs 1
J–K, 4F).
Head. Eight eyes, GH smaller than EF, 1/2 than EF (
Fig. 14A
). Antennal length 832 μm (n=7), 2.41 times the length of the head.Apical vesicle of Ant IV bilobed with pin chaetae. Relative length of Ant I/II/III/IV=1/2.00/1.9/2.2. Four prelabral chaetae ciliated. 5,5,4 labral chaetae smooth, labral papillae smooth with a little protrusion (
Fig. 14B
). Posterior labial chaetae –M

all ciliated, only with, R smaller than others (1/2 than M2). Anterior labial chaetae smooth.
Thorax and abdomen. Length ratio of Abd IV/III=3:5 (n=8). Trochanteral organ with 18–22 smooth and spinelike chaetae (
Fig. 14C
). Tibiotarsus without smooth chaetae, with exception of smooth terminal chaeta on legs 3, characteristic for the genus. Trochanteral organ from 15 to 22 chaetae Unguis with 4 teeth, first pair at 50% of the unguis base and first unpaired tooth at 75%. Unguiculus with the external edge serrated, sometimes difficult to see. Mean length of manubrium and dens 759 μm (340+419 μm respectively, n=6)). Manubrial plate with 4 chaetae and 2 pseudopores. Mucro 10 μm with teeth similar in size and with mucronal spine reaching tip of subapical tooth, distal smooth part of dens 22 μm.
Macrochaetotaxy. Simplified Mc formula: 3,1,0,3,2/2,3/2,4(5)/1,2,2/1(3),3(4),4,2,2 (maximum in parentheses, some of them mes). Head chaetotaxy (

Remarks.
From the colour and its variations, this species could be mistaken for
E. marginata
(
Tullberg, 1871
)
Brook, 1884
,
E. multifasciata
(
Tullberg, 1871
)
Brook, 1884
, the female of
E. nigrocincta
Denis, 1923
or
E. atrocincta

from
USA
. However, the chaetotaxy of Abd segments II, III, is similar to

(in
Ramel
et al
. 2008
),
Entomobrya tasmomarginata

, and
