H. demarmelsi : Leticia , Amazonas (G) S9–10 lateral view (H) S9–10 ventral view (I) intersternite. Remarks : This species was described by Calvert (1909) based on a male collected in Coroico ( Bolivia ), including an illustration of cerci in dorsolateral view. Sjöstedt (1918) described H. speciosum based on a single male from Peru and illustrated cerci in dorsolateral view, as well as color pattern of abdomen in dorsal view. Williamson (1919) illustrated color pattern of head and posterior lobe of prothorax of H. flavidorsum , De Marmels (1987) examined the holotype of H. speciosum and illustrated cerci and coloration pattern of head and thorax, arriving at the conclusion that H. speciosum is a junior synonym of H. flavidorsum . Here, we report this species for Colombia , from Putumayo Department . Some important diagnostic characters of this species are the male cerci lacking a ventrobasal convexity ( Fig. 9H ) and provided with a very short middle process ( Fig. 9 G–H). The females of this species was so far unknown. Description of the female : Head : mainly brown, labrum dark brown with orange central spot, clypeus dark brown, black crossbar at level of antenna, antennal base dark brown, brown crossbar at level of ocelli and a black crossbar along posterior margin, rear of head brown ( Fig. 5H ). Prothorax : anterior lobe black with gray central spot, middle lobe dark gray with two black dorsal spots, posterior lobe black with pale brown posterior margin ( Fig. 16K ), dorsal plate of intersternite with swollen anterior corner ( Fig. 14F ). Pterothorax : mesepisternum pale brown with black middorsal line and black antehumeral stripe, mesepimeron gray with black stripe, mesinfraespisternum gray with black spot, metepisternum pale brown with black stripe, metepimeron pale yellow, metinfraepisternum pale yellow with black spot ( Fig. 16G ). Legs : dark brown, spurs on femora about same size as space between them, except for distal three, which are longer on profemora, and the distal four longer on mesofemora; there are seven spurs on profemora, eight on mesofemora and 11 on metafemora; spurs on tibiae about two times as long as space between them, except for distal three which are shorter on protibiae and metatibiae; there are ten spurs on protibiae, seven on mesotibiae and 11 on metatibiae, tarsi and claw dark brown. Wings : hyaline, with brown veins and pale brown pterostigma, which covers 2.5 cells, and has slanting proximal and distal edges, 17 Px in FW and HW. FIGURE 15. Heteragrion peregrinum : Union Panamericana , Chocó (G) S9–10 lateral view (H) S9–10 ventral view (I) intersternite. Abdomen : mainly brown, S1–S2 paler laterally, S3–S7 with pale brown basal ring, S3–S6 with pale brown lateroventral spot in distal half, S9–S10 brown dorsally and pale brown ventrally ( Fig. 16G ). Ovipositor : pale brown, not surpassing end of S10, stylus pale brown ( Fig. 14D ), small dark brown teeth on genital valves in a parallel arrangement ( Fig. 14 D–E), cerci dark brown basally and black distally ( Fig. 14D ). Measurements (mm): Abdomen: 36.0, FW: 29.0, HW:28.0. Variation among examined females : similar coloration, 17–18 Px in FW and 16–17 Px in HW. Abdomen 36.0–37.0mm, FW 25.0–26.0mm, HW 25.0–26.0mm.
