Male, brachypterous; colouration dark brown, surface of head thorax, mtg I+II and median elevation of tergal plate granulate. Head . Slightly longer than width of head (22/21); genae produced over clypeus leaving a cleft; antenniferous lobes diverging anteriorly with blunt apex reaching 1/3 of antennal segment I; antennae 1.78x as long as width of head (37.5/21); segment I thickest slightly bent at base, II–III more slender, II shortest and III longest, IV fusiform with pilose apex; eyes oval inserted in head; postocular lobes straight converging posteriorly toward collar; vertex granulate at middle with ovate smooth callosities laterally; rostrum arising from a slit-like atrium, as long as head, rostral groove deep with carinate lateral margins, closed posteriorly. Pronotum . 2.6x as wide as long (24/9); collar ring-like and carinate; lateral margins roundly converging anteriorly its anterolateral angles not reaching anterior margin of collar; disk with an inverted T-shaped groove flanked by 2(1+1) ovate callosities and granulate ridges laterally; posterior margin elevated and sinuate. Mesonotum . Consisting of a scutellum about 6x as wide as long (29/5), roundly humped at middle and 2 (1+1) subtriangular wing pads laterally; these depressed on their inner angle, carinate and raised along exterior margin; slit-like metathoracic scent gland canals visible from above; posterior margin sinuate and fused to metanotum. Metanotum . Round median elevation granulate nearly as high as mesonotal elevation, laterally sloping and smooth, then granulate; posterior margin sinuate fused to mtgI. Mtg I+II. Fused to each other and to tergal plate without distinct sutures; mtg I forming transverse ridge at middle, this high as mesonotal- metanotal elevation, laterally sloping toward smooth depressed lateral parts; mtgII only slightly raised at middle, lateral parts with flat round callosities. Abdomen . Tergal plate flat roundly elevated at mtg III–IV and around dorsal scent gland on mtg IV–V; apodemal impressions sourrounded by thin carinae; deltg II–VI laterally reflexed, deltg II+III fused all others separated by sutures; tergite VII raised medially for reception of pygophore. Venter . As described for the genus, spiracles II–VI ventral and not visible from above, VII and VIII lateral and visible. Legs . Unarmed, femora slightly attenuated at base and apex, tibiae cylindrical; claws with long setiform pseudopulvilli. Genitalic structures . Pygophore conical with rugose surface; ptg VIII small, reaching of pygophore; the only male was not dissected for the study of parameres. Female . Generally as male but of larger size and more ovate abdomen, its lateral margins evenly rounded; tergite VII raised posteriorly with two transverse ridges on posterior half, ptg VIII strongly transverse shorter than truncate tergites IX+X. Measurements . Holotype : length 5.3 mm ; length of antennae 1.87 mm ; width of abdomen 2.55 mm ; paratype Ƥ: Length 6.3 mm ; length of antennae 2.0 mm; length of antennae / width of head 1.74; length of antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 11/7.5/13.5/8; width of abdomen across tergite IV 3.25 mm . Etymology. From> latus <(Latin) wide, referring to the strongly transverse scutellum. Distribution. So far recorded from Central Hainan on Wuzhishan and Jianfengling.
