Etymology.
The specific name is a noun and refers to the locality of some of the
paratypes
.
Diagnosis.
Males of
N. liguanea
sp. nov.
resemble those of
N. guanaboa
sp. nov.
and
N. maroon
sp. nov.
(
Figs 67
,
116
) in the embolus with dorsal, subdistal keel (
Fig. 85
). They are distinguished from these species by the dRTA squared in retrolateral view and vRTA slender and pointed in retrolateral view (
Figs 83−84
). Females are distinguished by the median septum roughly rectangular with lateral margins compressed, anterior margin procurved and posterior margin medially pointing posteriorly (
Fig. 86
).
Description. Male (MCZ 69740,
holotype
):
Prosoma brown with thin dark brown lines along thoracic striae, lateral margins of cephalic region and extending posteriorly from PME. Fovea dark brown. Eye borders black.
Chelicerae brown with longitudinal dark brown stripe. Pedipalps pale brown. Legs pale brown ventrally mottled with dark brown spots. Sternum orange with pale brown margins. Endites orange, distally yellow. Labium brown, distally yellow. Opisthosoma cream colored; dorsally with gray pattern of irregular marks on anterior half and chevron-like marks on posterior half; ventrally with few gray spots. Total length 8.4. Prosoma: 3.6 long, 3.2 wide. Opisthosoma: 4.7 long, 2.3 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.22, 0.20, 0.14, 0.20; interdistances: 0.18, 0.12, 0.34, 0.24, 0.14, 0.04. Legs (2143): I: 13.8 (3.8, 1.9, 3.5, 3.6, 1.0); II: 14.2 (4.0, 1.9, 3.6, 3.7, 1.0); III: 10.4 (3.4, 1.2, 2.4, 2.6, 0.8); IV: 13.1 (3.8, 1.4, 3.1, 3.8, 1.0). Palp: VTA triangular, retrolaterally displaced; tegular protrusion arising from tegulum at 6 o’clock position; median apophysis arising from tegulum at 3 o’clock position; conductor with the same length throughout its entire length; TBC roughly three times longer than wide; embolus arising from tegulum at 9 o’clock position; TBE bifid, secondary branch short and curved (
Figs 82−85
).
Female (MCZ 69730):
Coloration pattern as in male but darker. Total length 11.1. Prosoma: 4.4 long, 3.7 wide. Opisthosoma: 6.7 long, 4.1 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.26, 0.24, 0.14, 0.20; interdistances: 0.28, 0.22, 0.42, 0.40, 0.20, 0.08. Legs (2143): I: 13.5 (3.9, 2.2, 3.4, 3.1, 0.9); II: 13.8 (4.1, 2.3, 3.3, 3.3, 0.8); III: 10.3 (3.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.4, 0.7); IV: 12.7 (3.9, 1.6, 2.7, 3.5, 1.0). Epigyne: epigynal field as long as wide; anterior rim continuous, recurved; median septum one and a half times wider than long (
Fig. 86
). Vulva: glandular projections short, round with wide base; spermathecae packed within oblong sclerotized structure, narrower close to fertilization ducts; internal ducts indistinguishable (
Figs 87−88
).
Variation.
Females (n = 10): total length 8.1−11.4; prosoma length 3.4−4.4; femur I length 3.0−3.9.
