Diagnosis. The male palp of Dipoena peruensis resembles that of Dipoena cornuta Chickering, 1943 (see Levi, 1963: 171, fig. 222) in the conductor projected and the median apophysis large ( Fig. 31 ) and carapace ringed along ventral margin ( Fig. 33 ), but differs in the pattern and shape of the median apophysis pointed ( Fig. 31 ). Description. Male (MCN 48940): Total length 2.39. Carapace length 1.17, width 0.86. Clypeus height 0.71. Sternum length 0.52, width 0.50. Abdomen length 1.19, width 0.92, height 0.88. Leg formula I/IV/II/III; segment length (I/II/III/IV): femora 0.88/0.71/0.52/0.81; patellae + tibiae 0.92/0.73/0.58/0.88; metatarsi + tarsi 0.92/0.75/ 0.67/0.92; total 2.72/2.19/1.77/2.61. Eye diameter and interdistance: AME 0.12, ALE 0.07, PME 0.07 and PLE 0.07; AME–AME 0.10, AME–ALE 0.06, PME–PME 0.08, PME–PLE 0.08. Eyes ( Fig. 32 ) margined with black. Carapace high ( Fig. 33 ), with grooves, dark brown, nearly black, mainly at the median portion ( Fig. 32 ). Carapace projecting above the clypeus, highest in thoracic region ( Fig. 33 ). Sternum, labium and endites brown. Coxae pale yellow. Legs yellow, with a black line along all articles. Abdomen oval ( Fig. 32 ), dark brown. Spinnerets dark brown. Female. Described by Levi (1963: 157; figs. 131–132). Remarks. Males and females were collected together in São Paulo, Brazil . Material examined. BRAZIL .
