Several other species were collected among N . maculata , such as Nepa cinerea Linnaeus, 1758 (Nepidae) , Sigara ( Pseudovermicorixa ) nigrolineata nigrolineata (Fieber, 1848) (Corixidae) , N. glauca glauca Linnaeus, 1758 (Notonectidae) , Hydrometra stagnorum (Linnaeus, 1758) (Hydrometridae) , Gerris lacustris (Linnaeus, 1758) , and Limnoporus rufoscutellatus (Latreille, 1807) (both Gerridae ). Aspects of the hemelytral coloration pattern and the paramere are illustrated in Figs. 5 and 10 . Distribution. Southern and central Europe, Great Britain , Denmark , Sweden , northern Africa, Turkey , Israel , Lebanon , Syria , Iraq , Iran , and Pakistan ( Polhemus 1995 ; Protiċ 1998 , 2011 ; Martín & López 2004 ; Kanyukova 2006 ; Soós et al. 2009 ; Fent et al . 2011 ).
