This species is similar to C. parvitas , but it can be distinguished by the combination of the following characters: A5 in female distinctly longer than wide, postmarginal vein approximately as long as stigmal vein, female T1 horn present. Etymology. The epithet is inspired by the Latin word for shortened, in reference to the short median mesoscutal carina, and is intended to be treated as an adjective. Link to distribution map. This species is extremely variable in mesosoma color and can be roughly divided into dark and light forms.
