Diagnosis. Polygonal sclerotized plates irregularly present on dorsum ( Fig. 30C ); ventral tubular ducts absent; legs each with a tibio-tarsal articulatory sclerosis ( Fig. 31G ) ( Hodgson 1994 ; Hamon & Williams 1984 ). Remarks. Eucalymnatus comprises 11 described species, mostly restricted to Brazil , Guatemala and Guyana in the Neotropical region except for the cosmopolitan species, E. tessellatus . Mature adult females of the genus are easily recognized by the polygonal sclerotized plates on the dorsum ( Hodgson 1994 ; García Morales et al . 2016 ).
