New Ireland

South Africa

and western Mascarenes east to Marshall and Tuamotu islands, north to southern
Japan
and Ogasawara Islands, south to northern
Australia

New Caledonia
. Found in coastal to inner coral and rocky reefs and estuaries, often in silty habitats,

depth. Transitional water and marine.
