The present forest species is known from Sierra Leone to Angola and Uganda and is now assigned for the first time to Guinea-Bissau , from where the genus was also unknown. Its confirmation in this country gives credibility to its reference from Senegal by Ackery et al. (2005), and questioned by Larsen (2005).
