Head black; antennae black, antennomeres 1–2 yellow, antennomeres 10–11 dark brown; clypeus black except basal and lateral margins yellowish brown; labrum and labial palpi yellow, maxilla black; pronotum and scutellum black; elytra yellowish brown except apex black; pygidium black; underside black except first 3 abdominal sternite yellowish brown laterally; legs black, except apices of femora and tibiae, and most portion of tarsi brown. Head: eyes prominent; head strongly constricted behind the eyes; vertex slightly convex, sparsely punctured; occiput glabrous; frontal suture absent; clypeus rectangular, punctate and pubescent on lateral areas, separated from frons by deep fronto-clypeal suture; labrum short, apical margin rounded, sparsely punctate and pubescent; antennae slender, extended to the half length of body, antennomere 3 as long as 1, shorter than 4, antennomere 2 shortest, antennomeres5–10 slightly shorter than 1 (scape), antennomere 11 acute at apex. Thorax: PW/PL = 1.4, basal margin slightly broader than apical margin; lateral margin expanded from front angle to the middle, then constricted, hind margin formed a nearly right angle with lateral margin; anterior and posterior groove distinctly present laterally, absent in the middle, basal tubercle feebly convex and protruded backward; disc convex, finely punctate throughout, posterior portion with one shallow concave; hind angle with 3– 4 long setae. Scutellum lingulate, apex straightness, sparsely punctate and pubescent. Elytra: EL/EW= 1.3, humeri projected forward, humeral groove shallow; lateral sides nearly paralleled, apex rounded; disc lightly depressed behind scutellum, irregularly punctate and pubescent; suture with one row of small punctures and pubescences; epipleuron slightly widened at base, punctate and pubescent. Apex of elytra, posterior view. Scale line = 2.0 mm (Figs 35–36); Scale line = 0.5 mm (Figs 37–39). Abdomen and legs: Underside punctate and pubescent. Legs moderately long, femora robust, mid- and hindtibiae slightly curved. Pygidium exposed, convex, apical margin straight, punctate and pubescent laterally. Median lobe flattened, slightly curved, widest nearly in the middle, basal and apical portions narrow, sclerotised except dorsocentral portion membranous, apical lamella triangular, blunt, slightly swollen laterally ( Figs 40–42 ); median struts rod-shaped, widely separated from each other, approximately 2.6 times as long as median lobe ( Figs 40–41 ); tegmen with basal portion V-shaped, paramere lingulate, apical margin pubescent ( Figs 43–44 ); endophallus membranous, with two slightly round pieces of spiny areasat apex ( Figs 40–41 ). Spiculum slightly longer than median lobe, basestick-shaped and apex triangular ( Fig. 45 ). FIGURES 40–45. Holotype of Zeugophora ( Pedrillia ) nigroapica sp. nov. , male genitalia. 40. Aedeagus, lateral view; 41. Median lobe and median struts, ventral view; 42. Median lobe, dorsal view; 43. Tegmen, dorsal view; 44. Tegmen, lateral view; 45. Spiculum, dorsal view; Abbreviations: median lobe (Mdl); median struts (Mds); spiculum (Spi); tegmen (Teg); endophallus (Edp); paramere (Par); tegminal ring (Tgr); basal piece (Bpi); Scale line = 0.5 mm. Distribution. China ( Yunnan ). Etymology. The species name nigroapica refers to apex of elytra black. Remarks. This species is similar to Zeugophora ( Pedrillia ) emeica sp. nov. , but differs from the latter in having: 1) pronotum entirely black, elytra with lager black area at apex, most portion of legs black, apex of elytra more convex (basal margin of pronotum reddish brown, elytra with less black area at apex, most portion of legs reddish brown in Z. ( P. ) emeica ); 2) median lobe elongate, apical lamella slightly swollen laterally, median strut long, tegmen slightly sclerotised (base of median lobe broad, apical lamella strongly narrowed and downward, median strut short, tegmen strongly sclerotised in Z. ( P. ) emeica ). This species is also similar to Zeugophora ( Pedrillia ) bicolor Kraatz, 1879 , but can be distinguished from the latter in having: 1) apex of elytra black, pronotum entirely black, pronotum with two basal tubercles ( Fig. 35 ) (elytra entirely yellowish brown, basal portion of pronotum reddish brown, pronotum with basal tubercle absent in Z. ( P. ) bicolor . Fig. 46 ); 2) dorsocentral portion of median lobe membranous, widest in the middle, narrowed basally and apically ( Figs 41, 42 ) (basal one third portion of median lobe tubular, the rest of dorsocentral portion membranous, lateral margins paralleled in Z. ( P. ) bicolor . Fig. 48 ).
