Yao Jian" ( CCA ); one ex., “China-Shaanxi, Lueyang, 23-30.V.2009 , lgt. E. Kučera” (CDW); one male, “ Guangxi , Guilin" ( SCAU ). Specific epithet. In Latin, punctatus means punctate, and collis means neck; the specific name is referred to the heavily punctate neck and pronotum in the new species. Diagnosis. With the character states of the genus Calleida in the widest sense, but from all Asiatic species known so far markedly characterized by the following peculiar characters: small-medium sized (L: 6.7–8.0 mm); pronotum slightly angulate near the middle, with heavy punctures on disc ( fig. 24 ); apical labial palpomeres markedly securiform in both males and females (no sexual dimorphism); abdominal sternum VII not notched in either males and females, with eight setae in males (four on each side, fig. 3 ), ten or more setae in females (five to seven on each side, fig. 6 ); endophallus without copulatory pieces ( fig. 27 ). This new species, although a little similar to some members of the C. splendidula species group in general appearance and coloration, such as C. onoha , can be easily identified from all other Asiatic Calleida by the presence of distinct, deep punctures on pronotum and the presence of additional setae on the abdominal sternum VII. Description. General features as in figs. 22, 23 . Small-medium sized: L: 6.8–8.2 mm ; TL: 6.5–7.8 mm . Colour : Head reddish brown, palpi and antennae yellow reddish; pronotum reddish brown, somewhat paler at lateral margins; scutellum reddish brown; elytra green to greenish-cupreous, with strong metallic reflection, or in some specimens greenish with reddish cupreous reflection; suture and lateral margins reddish brown; epipleura reddish brown; ventral side and legs reddish brown. Lustre and microsculpture: microsculpture vanished over the entire dorsal surface; pronotum shiny, with distinctly coarse and deep punctures; elytra shiny, with strong metallic lustre. Head with evident dorsal punctures; genae very short, not swollen, obliquely and gradually narrowed towards the neck; genae as long as the half length of eyes; vertex slightly convex; frons more sparsely punctate than vertex, with irregular, distinct or very faint wrinkles; supraorbital furrows deep, vanished before the hind edge of eyes; antennae reaching the basal fifth of elytra; terminal labial palpomere strongly securiform in both male and female, terminal maxillary palpomere fusiform. MAP 2 Distributions for species in the C. puncticollis group: C. puncticollis sp. n. (red). Pronotum ( fig. 24 ) hexagonal (ratio PW/PL 1.21–1.27), its greatest width at about the anterior third; lateral margins forming an obtuse angle at the greatest width, slightly sinuate before the posterior angles; posterior angles almost rectangular, not distinctly pointed; lateral furrows narrow, somewhat raised; disc slightly convex, with some transverse wrinkles close to the median furrow; median furrow distinct, not reaching the anterior and basal margins; surface of the disc with distinctly coarse punctures, larger and denser along the median line, in basal foveae, in the pre-basal and anterior areas, and scattered at sides of disc. Elytra relatively short (ratio EL/EW: 1.56–1.62), with basal ridge extending to scutellar stria; striae moderately deep, punctate, the punctures gradually weakened to the apical part; intervals flat, finely and sparsely punctate; eighth interval slightly tumid near the apex; umbilicate series of 15 pores along eighth stria; apical truncation straight or slightly concave; outer apical angle obtusely rounded. Ventral side : Prosternum, lateral area of metasternum, and metepisterna with short setae; abdominal sterna with sparse accessory setae, denser on sternum VII; abdominal sternum VII with four setae on each side in males, five to seven setae on each side in females; apical margin of sternum VII not notched in both males and females ( figs. 3, 6 ). Male genitalia : median lobe ( fig. 27 ) pleuropic left, slightly curved, strongly expanded in dorsal view in the middle, narrow in lateral view, slightly expanded before the apical orifice; apical lamina flat, wider than length, fully rounded at apex; endophallus without any chitinized piece; left paramere strongly depressed in dorsal side; right paramere slightly emarginated at apex ( fig. 28 ). Female genitalia (reproductive tract fig. 26 and ovipositor fig. 25 ): spermatheca clubbed, longer than the pedicel, base without any additional structure, surface strongly whorled; spermathecal pedicel with the basal two thirds expanded, apical half slender; spermathecal gland duct inserted ventrally at base of spermatheca, a little shorter than spermatheca; glandular area about same length as gland duct, base with small and protuberant atrium. Gonocoxite I of ovipositor very wide, triangular; gonocoxite II small, subulate, at base three times longer than wide; inner margin with several setae, extending from the basal third to apex; outer and inner margin straight; apex with short membranous extension. Geographical distribution and habitat. A widely distributed but apparently very rare species in China ( map 2 ), known from Shaanxi , Hubei , Hunan , Guangxi and Fujian provinces. The sampled specimens show that this species inhabits in subtropical moist broadleaf forests, and tends to prefer old-growth forest in low elevation (less than 1000 m ).
