Snails or semi-slugs. Shell (very) small to very large, dextral or sinistral, (low-)conical, ellipsoid, lenticular or discoid; semi-slugs with a (partly) reduced shell. Sculpture absent, or inconspicuous (rarely more distinct) spiral and/or radial sculpture present. Aperture without teeth or lamellae, peristome usually thin and not reflected. Umbilicus closed or open, narrow (Family description adapted from Baker (1941), and Solem (1966) . In contrast to our earlier paper, Liew et al. 2009 , we here include the Dyakiinae in Ariophantidae , rather than treating them as a separate family). Habitat and distribution. Generally forest species found on leaf litter and vegetation. Throughout South, East, and Southeast Asia, and Oceania, with a few species circumtropically introduced.
