Piscicola fasciata
Kollar, 1842
Synonym:
Cystobranchus fasciatus
Brumpt, 1900
Habitats
and status:
Piscicola fasciata
is a rare ectoparasitic species living most often on the catfish (
Silurus glanis
Linnaeus, 1758
) (
Neubert & Nesemann 1999
). In the
Czech Republic
it was reported only once from the lower Dyje (Thaya) River (
Lucký & Dyk 1964
). During their survey,
P. fasciata
was found frequently on catfish in spring period. This species is hence supposed to live in the
Czech Republic
, although by the sampling method used it was not collected recently (
1998 through 2008
).
