Type material. HOLOTYPE Ƌ, labelled: “ARG Catamarca / Andalgala / X-25-1972, G. E. Bohart ”; “ HOLOTYPE / Paraleucopis / boharti/ Wheeler & Sinclair [red label]” (LACM) . PARATYPES: same data as holotype (3 Ƌ, 2 ♀, LACM); same data except 4.xi.1972, ex. Prosopis alba (4 Ƌ, 2 ♀, LACM; 2 Ƌ, 2 ♀, CNC) .

Recognition. This species is characterized by fronto-orbital setae not distinct; antenna mostly yellow; face with upper two-thirds pruinose, not extended beneath eye anteriorly; parafacial pruinose; legs mostly dark; hind femur with 2–3 anteroventral preapical setae; surstylus triangular in lateral view, slightly tapered with broadly rounded apex in ventral view.

Description. Frons dark brown often with narrow pale band above antennae; gena dark. Face with upper twothirds pruinose, with thin median stripe extended to clypeus, not extended beneath eye anteriorly; parafacial pruinose. Fronto-orbital setae not distinct. Antenna yellow, apical margin of postpedicel sometimes darkened; antennal bases separated by length of postpedicel. Clypeus shiny.

Katepisternum with several stout, dark ventral setae, anterior to mid coxa; short setulae on anterior half. Scutum with dense setulae arising from small irregular tubercles giving densely punctate appearance (Fig. 28). Coxae and femora dark, with apex of femora pale; fore tibia mostly pale; mid and hind tibiae darkened in middle, pale basally and apically; tarsomeres on all legs pale, darkened on tarsomeres 4 and 5 dorsally. Mid tibia with dark ventroapical seta, less than one-quarter length of tarsomere 1. Hind femur with 2–3 spine-like preapical anteroventral setae (Fig. 25).

Male postabdomen (Fig. 30): epandrium rounded, evenly sclerotized, setose along posterior margin. Hypandrium broad, with pair of anterior setae; with rounded postgonite apically. Surstylus triangular in lateral view, slightly tapered with broadly rounded apex in ventral view; apex arch posteromedially; setae confined mostly to posterior margin. Distiphallus tapered to narrow apex. Cercus rounded, half dorsal length of epandrium; apex broadly rounded.

Female postabdomen: tergite 6 (Fig. 31) broadly bilobed anteriorly, strongly narrowed medially with lobate posterior margin; posterior corners expanded posteriorly with pair of long setae, more than half length of tergite; spermatheca (Fig. 32) with short pigmented denticles or papillae; numerous slender filaments with circular tips or end apparatus of gland cells (see Kotrba 2000; Kotrba & Baptista 2002).

Distribution. This species is known from the type locality in northeastern Argentina (Fig. 29) in the Monte province of the South American transition zone (Morrone 2015).

Etymology. This species is named for George E. Bohart, who collected the type series of this species and P. auripes .
