Hughjonestrongylus sp 2.

Four females, collected from one individual of P. platyops, from 60 k south Vanimo, Sanduan Province, by A. B. Mirza, 9. iv. 1974, BBM NG104584.

These specimens had a synlophe at the female mid body of 17 ridges arranged as for the genus Hughjonestrongylus and consistent with H. vanimoensis . The number of synlophe ridges combined with the characters of the ovejector, a short infundibulum with 6– 7 eggs in utero, precluded the specimens being placed in any known species.
