Remarks. The external appearance and genitalia of the single male examined here and males identified as D. ineffectus by Zhang & Webb (1996, Figs 72, 320–326, 541) are similar but the genitalia of the former differs in having two rather than one ventro-posterior pygofer process and the aedeagal shaft more elongate with the posterior flanges broader. There is also variation in the pregenital sternite (Figs 2 B–D) in females examined of similar appearance to the males from the same localities. Further material is needed to establish if the observed differences are specific or represent variation of a single species.
