Oncocephalus subspinosus (Amyot & Serville, 1843)
(Fig. 4C)
Material examined: LIBERIA: Bong county, Weadea creek, Haindi, 6°52′N 10°21′W, 21.vi.1989, at light, leg. Rolf Garms (1 ♂) .
Distribution: New for Liberia. Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Sierra Leone.
Remark: About 65 Oncocephalus species were listed by Maldonado Capriles (1990) for the Afrotropical region (excluding islands), only 17 of which were keyed by Villiers (1948). This suggests that the genus needs a revision. As this specimen does not match O. quinquedecimspinulosus Reuter, 1882, which was reported from Liberia by Villiers (1948, see below), the given identification may serve the aim of faunistics for the time being, though based on an outdated key.
