Aethinodes Blackburn and related genera

The genera Aethinodes Blackburn, 1891, Lasiodites Jelínek, 1999, and Plesiothina Kirejtshuk, 1990b, were all considered as subgenera of the New World genus Phenolia Erichson, 1843, by Kirejtshuk & Kvamme (2002). This action was recently criticised by Lawrence (2018), who treated each of these as a full genus.
