Microvelia longipes Uhler, 1894

This species is widespread in the Neotropical Region, from Cuba in the Greater Antilles to Argentina (Pérez- Gelabert & Floriano 2016), living preferentially in small temporary rain pools. We present here the first record from French Guiana.

Material examined. FRENCH GUIANA: Cayenne —Macouria, Crique Patate, puddle, N 0 4.94416, W 0 52.48671, 10.III.2014, (A. Khila; M. E. Santos; A. J. J. Crumière): 79 apterous males, 1 macropterous male, 39 apterous females, 2 macropterous females, 39 nymphs (IGFL).
