Habitus Fig. 23A. Length 1.1 mm. Colour brownish black, shining, antennae yellow, the two basal antennomeres darker. Antennomeres 3–11 0.38 mm long Fig. 23 C. Distance between eyes 0.35 mm. Mentum and submentum chaetotaxy Fig. 23 F. Pronotum 0.61 mm wide, 0.36 mm long, sides strongly rounded in the posterior half, without a sinuation before the posterior angles Fig. 23 B. Elytra 0.61 mm long, 0.54 mm wide. Mesoventral collar sloped at shoulders and with a median excision Fig. 23 J. Metaventral border between metacoxae long Fig. 23 K; metacoxal plates Fig. 23 K.
Male: ventrite six with two groups of many small blunt spines Figs. 23 G, I; ventrite seven with lateral margins extended anteriorly to form two points Fig. 23 H; aedeagus distinctive Fig. 23 E.
Female: spermatheca Fig. 23 D.
Etymology. Johnson ms name.
Remarks. Immediately distinguishable by the large patches of short spines on ventrite six of the male.
Type data. Holotype: ♀, Massif de l’Ankaratra, Col. de Manontongana, c. 2000 m, 14.iv.1969, upper limit of mountain forest, leg. H. Franz (MM). Paratypes, 3♂, same data as holotype; 3♀, Massif de l’Ankaratra, 12.iv.1969, mountain forest near forest station, leg. H. Franz (MM).
