Acrotrichis logunovi sp.n.

Habitus Fig. 22A. Length 0.86 mm. Colour blackish brown, antennae and legs pale brown. Antennomeres 3–11 0.31 mm long Fig. 22 C. Distance between eyes 0.31 mm. Pronotum 0.48 mm wide, 0.26 mm long, sides barely rounded with a slight sinuation before the sharply pointed posterior angle Fig. 22 B. Elytra 0.47 mm long, 0.50 mm wide. Sides of mesoventral keel sloped at the shoulders and posterior margin with a shallow median excision Fig. 22 E. Posterior margin of metaventrite between metacoxae very short Fig. 22 F.
Male: not known.
Female: spermatheca Fig. 22 D.
Etymology. I have great pleasure in naming this species after Dr Dmitri Logunov, Curator of Arthropods at the MM, who has always responded very willingly to my many requests for advice and loans.
Remarks. The almost black colour, very short posterior margin of the metaventrum between the metacoxae and the bulbous form of the female spermatheca will distinguish this species.
Type data. Holotype: ♀, E. Masoala, R. Antsamanarana, Flight Intercept Trap, 50–470 m, 3–7.xiv.1993, D. Lees, BMNH (E) 1994-138 (BMNH). Paratype: 1♀, same data as holotype.
