Material examined. CHINA: Guizhou Province: 1 Ƥ, Xiasi Village, Kuankuoshui Nature Reserves, Suiyang County (27°58ʹN, 107°11ʹE), 840 m, 9.vi.2010, leg. Linlin Yang. Shaanxi Province: 1 3, 3 Ƥ, Yangling Town (34°17ʹN, 108°04ʹE), 450 m, 24.v.1995, leg. Aisihaer Maimaiti. (Genitalia slide Nos: ZX06137 Ƥ, ZX06141 3, ZX06213 Ƥ, SYH10100 Ƥ, SYH11378 Ƥ).
Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 7). Wingspan 13.0−14.0 mm. This species can be easily distinguished from its congeners by the socius dilated distally in the male genitalia (Fig. 16), and by the heavily sclerotized ductus bursae with densely transverse wrinkles in the female genitalia (Fig. 25). It is similar to G. vectisana (Humphreys & Westwood, 1845) in appearance, but G. m e s o t y p a can be distinguished by the absence of the subapical fascia on the forewing, which is present in G. vectisana .
