Distribution. Introduced. Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Isabela, San Cristóbal.

Remarks. Larvae of this species were collected in El Junco lake (San Cristóbal) (Ferrington & Pehofer 1994). Considered an introduced species in Hawaii (Englund 2002).
