Distribution. Native. Neotropical; Galápagos: San Cristóbal.

Remarks. This species has been collected in arid zones and dry Scalesia forest (Jaschhof 2004). This formerly endemic genus and species, along with two additional species, have since been described from Brazil (Carmo-Neto et al. 2021).
