Distribution. Introduced. Australasian, Hawaii; Galápagos: Isabela, Santa Cruz.

Remarks. In the Galápagos this species was reared from tortoise dung collected fresh in the agricultural zone in the highlands of Santa Cruz (Reserva Pajáro Brujo) and sea lion dung collected fresh in the urban littoral lowlands on Santa Cruz. On Isabela, this species was reared from oranges in the pampa zone highlands (Lehnen et al. unpubl.).

In Hawaii, this species has been reared from decaying plant materials (Hardy 1960).
