Distribution. Native. Neotropical; Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz.
Remarks. In a revision of the Galápagos craneflies, Alexander (1962) did not mention Limonia stigmatica, although Curran (1934) transferred this record to Geranomyia tibialis .
Larvae were collected in moss on rocks of freshwater springs (Gerecke et al. 1995). Adult specimens have been collected on the sea surface between islands (Peck 1994b).
