Distribution. Endemic. Galápagos: Española, Floreana, Isabela, Pinta, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santiago.

Remarks. McMullen (1986) reported that adults (Fig. 17) of this species were very active on several flowers in the pampa zone of Santa Cruz. This species is considered a generalist pollinator, visiting a wide variety of plant species (Boada 2005; Chamorro et al. 2012). A specimen was collected on the sea surface between islands (Peck 1994b).
