Genus Hyphantrophaga Townsend

undetermined species (D.M. Wood pers. comm.).

Distribution. Not determined. Galápagos: Floreana (ICCDRS), Isabela, San Cristóbal (ICCDRS), Santa Cruz, Santiago.

Material examined. Galápagos: Isabela:Alcedo, 700 m, 14.x.1998, emergida de pupa de Thyrinteina umbrosa, Leg. L. Roque (1 ♁, ICCDRS). Santa Cruz: 29.x.2000, ex. pupa Utetheisa galapagensis (5 ♁, 2 ♀, CNC, ICCDRS). Santiago: Aguacate Camp, 550 m, mossy forest, MT, 7–13.iv.1992, S.B. Peck (1 ♀, CNC).

Remarks. Adults of this species were reared from the endemic species, Thyrinteina umbrosa Herbulot (Geometridae), collected on Isabela and Utetheisa galapagensis (Wallengren) (Erebidae) on Santa Cruz. Specimens were collected in sea surface nets between islands (Peck 1994b). This appears to be a species near H. virilis Aldrich & Webber (D.M. Wood pers. comm.).
