Distribution. Introduced. Australasian/ Oceanian, Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Baltra, Fernandina, Floreana, Genovesa, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé, Santiago.

Remarks. This species ranges from arid to pampa zones in the Galápagos. Adults of this species are very common in mangrove swamps and around garbage, dumps, etc. throughout its range. It is also introduced to Cook Is and French Polynesia (Society Is) (Buenaventura & Pape 2013).
