47. Family Sarcophagidae

Sarcophagidae are generally not very good dispersers, and where species occur on distant islands they are usually endemic (T. Pape pers. comm.). Species occurring as invasive in a region are usually a result of accidental transport via human activity, particularly through trade and military movement.
