Distribution. Introduced. Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Bartolomé, Floreana, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé, Santiago (CAS), Wolf.

Remarks. This species is associated with humans, breeding in various decaying vegetable and animal matter, especially rotting meat (Pont 1977).
