Type material. Male holotype from Le Boulet, Haiti, 11/XI/1959, A.M. Nadler col., deposited in AMNH; female paratype from Mariani (18°32’17”N; 72°36’36”W), Haiti, 12/IX/1959, A.M. Nadler col., deposited in AMNH; female paratype from Mariani, (18°32’17”N; 72°36’36”W), Haiti, 1♂, 1♀, 12.XI.1959, A.M. Nadler col. (IBSP 214257) .

Etymology. The noun in apposition refers to the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males of Thaloe leboulet n. sp. resembles T. maricao n. sp. and T. tricuspis (see Brescovit, 1993, fig. 7) by the palpal patella having three distal projections, but differ by the retrolateral patellar apophysis finger shaped, dorsal patellar apophysis bifid (Figs 3 C–F, 4D–F) and basal retrolateral tibial apophysis large and conic (Figs 3 D–F, 4D, E). Females are readily recognizable by the epigynal borders short and dentate at tip, with small atrium and reniform spermathecae (Fig. 3G, H)

Description. Male (Holotype, AMNH). Carapace orange. Legs orange yellow. Abdomen dorsally cream with sparse dorsal green gray chevrons and two gray spots medially disposed, ventrally cream (Fig. 3A). Total length 5.5, carapace length 2.4, width 1.9. Clypeus height 0.08. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.08, ALE 0.10, PME 0.12, PLE 0.12; AME–AME 0.06, AME–ALE 0.06, PME–PME 0.08, PME–PLE 0.10, ALE–PLE 0.08. Chelicerae 1.0 long, with 5 promarginal teeth and 7 retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 3.8/ patella 1.1/ tibia 4.2/ metatarsus absent/ tarsus absent; II—3.3/ 1/ 3.7/ 3.3/ 1.2/ 12.5; III—2.2/ 1/ 1.8/ 2.2/ 0.6/ 7.8; IV—3.2/ 1/ 3.2/ 3.6/ 0.9/ 12.5. Leg spination: I—tibia v2-2 -0, p1-1-1, r1-1-1. metatarsus absent; II—tibia v2-2 -0, p1-1-0, r1-1- 0; metatarsus v2-2 -0, p1-1-1, r1-1-1; III—tibia v2-2 -0, p1-1-0, r1-1-0; metatarsus v2-2 -2, p1-1-1, r1-1-1; IV—tibia v2-2 -1p, p1-1-0, r1-1-0, metatarsus v2-2 -2, p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Palp: ventral patellar apophysis elongate, dorsal patellar apophysis bifid, with anterior branch thinner, retrolateral patellar apophysis short and rounded at tip, retrolateral tibial apophysis short and conical, median apophysis with triangular basal projection, short tegular projection and filiform embolus (Figs. 3 C–F; 4D–F). Abdomen: length 3.1, epigastric furrow 0.7 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 1.3 from base of spinnerets.

Female (Paratype, IBSP 79217). Coloration as in male (Fig. 3B). Total length 7.2, carapace length 2.5, width 1.7. Clypeus height 0.08. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.06, ALE 0.16, PME 0.16, PLE 0.14; AME– AME 0.04, AME–ALE 0.04, PME–PME 0.10, PME–PLE 0.10, ALE–PLE 0.08. Chelicerae 0.9 long, with 5 promarginal teeth and 8 retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 3.1/ patella 1.2/ tibia 3.6/ metatarsus 3.15/ tarsus 1.4/ total 12.45; II—2.7/ 1/ 2.7/ 2.5/ 1/ 9.9; III—1.4/ 0.75/ 1.5/ 1.8/ 0.65/ 6.1; IV—2.7/ 0.9/ 2.7/ 3/ 0.8/ 10.1. Leg spination: I-II—tibia v2-2 -0, p1-1-1, r1-1-1; metatarsus v2-2 -0, p1-1-0, r1-1-0; III—tíbia v2-2 -0, p1-1-1, r1-1-1, metatarsus v2-2 -2, p1-1-1, r1-1-1; IV—tibia v2-2 -2-1r, p1-1-0, r1-1-0, metatarsus v2-2 -2, p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Abdomen: length 4.7, epigastric furrow 0.9 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 1.4 from base of spinnerets. Epigynum: narrow copulatory ducts, large spermathecae globular and small seminal receptacles, and short fertilization ducts (Figs. 3G, H).

Variation. Males (n = 3): total length 5.3−5.8; carapace 2.4−2.5; femur I 3.8−3.9. Females (n = 2): total length 6−7.2; carapace 2.2−2.5; femur I 2.8−3.1.

Distribution. Known only to Haiti (Fig. 7).
