Type Locality: Angola, Cahata.

Vernacular Names: Anchieta's Pipistrelle.

Distribution: Angola, S Dem. Rep. Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable as Pipistrellus anchietai .

Discussion: The oldest name for this species may be bicolor, here listed as a synonym of Neoromicia tenuipinnis following Hayman and Hill (1971); see discussion in Koopman (1975) and Hill and Harrison (1987). Reviewed by Cotterill (1996) and Kearney and Taylor (1997). Sometimes misspelled anchieta or anchietai, but the correct spelling is anchietae; see Kock (2001 a).
