Discussion: Often placed in Nycticeini (e.g., Koopman, 1994; McKenna and Bell, 1997), but recent phylogenetic analyses have grouped this taxon with plecotines (Bogdanowicz et al., 1998; Qumsiyeh and Bickham, 1993), although also see Pine et al. (1971) and Hoofer and Van Den Bussche (2001), who suggested a close relationship between Otonycteris and Antrozous .
