Discussion: Includes argentatus; see LaVal (1973 a). Reviewed in part by López-González et al. (2001). Does not include aenobarbus, which is here placed in Nycticeius following Carter and Dolan (1978); also see Husson (1962). Although I follow Koopman (1993) in listing isidori as a synonym, there are serious problems with idenfication of the holotype; see Carter and Dolan (1978), who suggested that this name might actually belong in Pipistrellus . Does not include mundus; see LaVal (1973 a). Apparently closely related to nigricans, levis, and oxyotus; see Ruedi and Mayer (2001).
